Time-lapse Camera

Close up of the permanent time-lapse camera.

A permanent time-lapse camera was installed at KOLA in December 2019. It takes a picture every daylight hour and is based on the same technology as cameras used by Platte Basin Timelapse.

Located near Turkey Creek, a tributary of the Platte River, this camera views a slough, restored prairie, and riparian forest by Kearney High School. Images provide documentation of landscape change to support experiential learning and public outreach associated with riparian ecosystems.
